Quiet in the Streets

It’s as though New Year’s Day is a non-existent day on the calendar, it’s so quiet.  Maybe it’s the lack of sun, the lack of people and the bitter biting winds the whip you in the face when you turn a corner here on the streets of Toronto, but I actually relish the peace of this day – it feels like a freebie, a day of hooky, to do anything you want. Stay in your pj’s all day, sleep, eat chips. I chose to walk, and now, while the boys sleep I am working away reading a great novel. Shh, I must get back to it.
